MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose - the advancement of the Christian faith in the community we are placed in as individuals and as a church and further afield by welcoming and responding to God’s love and presence. To receive His love and then give it away.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe:
A: There is one God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. In Jesus dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
B: Jesus is the Son of man and the Son of God, we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His finished atoning work at the cross, in His resurrection, in His ascension, in His heavenly position at the right hand of the Father, in His role as our intercessor and mediator and that one day He will return.
C: All people are dead in their spiritual condition and need to be ‘born again’ by faith in Jesus the Christ, making them spiritually alive, in eternal relationship with Jesus and righteous in the eyes of Father God.
D: Salvation comes by grace through faith, not by works. We can rest in the finished work of Jesus.
E: In baptism by full immersion for all believers as a fruit of salvation; it is an act out of desire.
F: In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift to all believers subsequent to the new birth.
G: That the bible is given by inspiration of God, it is the infallible living Word of God, the foundation of our Christian doctrine and used for instruction.
H: Jesus is the cornerstone and the head of the church. The church is a gathering of people not a building and churches together collectively represent Christ’s body on earth.
I: He is salvation, He is peace, He is grace, He is healer, He is deliverer, He is forgiveness. All we ever need is found in Him and through Him. d, the foundation of our Christian doctrine and used for instruction.
VISION
Our vision is to see a passion for Jesus permeate everything we do, to understand first that this passion is in response to the love of the Father poured out on us, in us, and through us.
“You will love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole being, and with your whole mind” Matt 22;37, One New Man Bible
The Vision of Stirring of the Water Ministries is split into two parts; ‘RECEIVING’ and ‘GIVING’.
VISION FOR RECEIVING
To bring personal and corporate renewal/revival through the person, presence and power of the Holy Spirit by welcoming Him and giving Him freedom and space to move and do whatever He wants to do in our lives and services.
To graciously receive from others, be they individuals or movements in the body of Christ, understanding that we do not have the whole picture, but just one small piece of God’s eternal puzzle. John 17:24 - the broader picture given by the whole Body of Christ reveals more of His Glory.
To be accountable to God, to the congregation and to Godly counsel from the wider body.
To live humbly by God’s grace in relational intimacy with Him, humility in demeanour, obedience to His will and in a willingness to honour, prefer and esteem others in the body of Christ above ourselves.
To be a church predominantly of the heart rather than methods and programmes; to value intimacy and relationship and to be Holy Spirit presence orientated rather than purpose driven.
To place a high value on the whole counsel of the logos, prayer, intercession and right believing.
To risk walking in all that God calls us to by faith and not by sight, to be obedient, to welcome and honour the prophetic gifting (the rhema words of God).
We are committed to Spirit-empowered ministry, recognising that we are inadequate in and of ourselves to fulfil our calling.
We encourage one another to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and be filled daily with His presence and power.
We encourage the operation of the gifts of the Spirit for mutual edification to produce lasting fruit.
“You will love your neighbour as yourself.” Matt 22:39
VISION FOR GIVING
To commit ourselves to actively love, bless and serve every member of the body of Christ as a response to the Father’s love.
To play our part in seeing the good news of Jesus Christ proclaimed in the power of the Holy Spirit to every nation, tribe and tongue. Acts1:8
To be involved in the mission of Jesus, in local mercy mission and abroad.
To praise and worship the Lord in simplicity, intimacy, in spirit and truth and to encourage new heights of individual and corporate worship, love and joy. As part of the act of worship we believe in the blessing of giving the tithe and offerings for the support of the church.
To see the church in unity of the Spirit and moving in the unity of the Father and Son in the understanding that the place of unity is the place of power. John 17:20-23 and Psalm 133
To embrace the reality of unity, that we are all one under the cross of Christ, rather than being recognised by race, nation, class, gender or denomination. Galatians 3:27-28
To provide identity and fellowship that is inclusive, not exclusive in order to relate in the body of Christ locally, nationally and internationally.
To be instruments of reconciliation wherever possible and supportive wherever and however God chooses to move and of whomever God chooses to use.
To be equippers of the saints for the work of building up the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-15
VALUES
Our core values are the underlying principles that guide us in making decisions and allocating resources to carry out our vision, they are the characteristics of Stirring of the Water Ministries in partnering to spread the FIRE of God’s love, presence and healing throughout the community and the nations.
F Father’s Love revealed through the Lord Jesus Christ
I Intimacy, Presence and Hearing God’s Voice
R Restoration of the Heart/Soul
E Extending the Kingdom through the equipping and empowering of the Holy Spirit
We value knowing God as Father
Experiencing God as our true Father, just as Jesus did, will change our lives. Every child of God needs to feel, know, and experience the unconditional, extravagant love of Father God. Jn 14:6-13, Luke 15:11-32, Rom 8:35-38
We value hearing God’s Voice
Every follower of Jesus is enabled to communicate with God the Holy Spirit through relational intimacy. He speaks to us through a variety of ways. Our response is to listen, and in turn, talk to Him through prayer, obey Him and learn to be a doer of His Word. John 10:3-4, Heb 1:1-2, 1 Thess 5:17, Jas 1:22
We value healing life’s hurts
Before we can truly love others, we must love ourselves and that means allowing the Spirit of God to transform our spirit, soul and body. Our Father is lovingly able to reveal to us issues and hurts that need healing. The Holy Spirit knows what we need to believe and receive in order to become whole. 2 Cor 7:1, 2 Cor 3:18, John 16:14, John 15:1, 1 Thess 5:23
We value empowering in the anointing
The anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit for breakthroughs from poverty, brokenness, ill health, and oppression from demonic forces, that takes us into a place of incredible favour. We desire for all to receive these breakthroughs and then to impart the anointing to others. Luke 4:16-21, Luke 9:1-6, Luke 10:1-9
We value equipping the saints
Everyone can be a person of influence, a disciple for Christ. As we hear God’s voice, receive His unconditional love, deal with our issues, and receive His anointing, we become more like Jesus in character, equipping and authority. We are commissioned by Him to go out into all the world, in the power of the Holy Spirit, give it away and make disciples of all nations through missions. Matt 9:35-38, Matt 28:16-20, 2 Tim 2:2
